Under the overall guidance of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Rule of Law Unit, the National Professional Officer will be responsible for the following duties.
Required Skills and Experience
An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent degree) in law, political sciences, international relations, social sciences or any other discipline related to human right is required. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in the human rights and rule of law fields at the national and/or international levels is required. Experience with human rights law and related mechanisms, as well as domestic legal and policy frameworks related to human rights is also required.
Candidates who have a first level University degree must have a minimum of four years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience.
For the position advertised, fluency in Spanish (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of English is also required.
